The Sewing Tools Mini Series is a video guide for beginner sewists. When you're learning to sew, the abundance of tools available to you can be overwhelming. It can be hard to know what to spend your money on, what you actually need. So I'm here to help narrow down what you should invest in based on my personal experience as a garment seamstress. Enjoy!

I highly recommend this line of Singer sewing machines, because they are great not only for beginners but even for advanced sewists. You won't find a better price than at these provided links. They are all under $200.

Although the Janome listed below is more expensive than the Singers and has less features, I am recommending it because it is has been my most reliable machine.

The Juki HZL F300 is my favorite and most used machine, because it is faster than the Janome and is particularly adept at garment sewing.

If you're interested in getting a serger, the Juki 654DE is a true workhorse well worth investing in.

And my recommendation for a coverstitch machine is the Juki MCS1500, no issues with skipped stitches as some machines are notorious for.
